Today, the way a patient's health information is shared among physicians, hospitals and other service providers is often inconsistent. This occurs because some health care processes are technology-based while other processes remain paper-based. This inability to efficiently share information across care settings often results in the duplication of efforts — which ultimately increases health care costs in our community.
What is eHealthAlign?
Kansas City's eHealthAlign is a community collaborative working to enhance health care through a secure exchange of health information.
eHealthAlign is locally directed and governed by recognized community leaders.
What will eHealthAlign do?
eHealthAlign will help the community address the problem described above by providing a technology network that allows health information to be securely shared between health care providers and their patients/consumers to support a higher quality of care and patient safety. eHealthAlign will facilitate the exchange of health information in the region to improve the quality of health care, reduce the cost of health care and enhance care coordination.
